GFM primarily exists to serve our operating companies, Goodwin Recruiting and The Friendly Toast restaurants. GFM also makes passive and minority investments in a variety of industries including private equity, real estate, seed capital and more. Further, GFM directs the philanthropic efforts of the Goodwin Family. GFM is proud to support many local non-profits including UNH, Prescott Park Arts Festival, SELT and Gather.

Goodwin Recruiting

Goodwin Recruiting was founded by Eric Goodwin in 1999. Eric is a seasoned restaurateur who had such a knack for hiring the best people that other hospitality entrepreneurs began asking him for recruiting help. He quickly realized there was a need to help hotel and restaurant companies find great people, and Goodwin Hospitality was born.

Since that time, the company has grown and expanded beyond the hospitality business and has become Goodwin Recruiting, a full-service recruiting agency for executive, finance, accounting, medical, healthcare, engineering and of course, hospitality.

It is Goodwin Recruiting’s commitment to making the right connections that has facilitated our consistent growth. We have never lost sight of Eric’s founding principles and his original commitment to finding the best connection for every client and candidate. The Friendly Toast

Eric Goodwin and his business partner, Scott Pulver, purchased The Friendly Toast in 2014. At that point, The Friendly Toast had two locations – Portsmouth, NH and Cambridge, MA. Since then, the two and their dedicated team have expanded The Friendly Toast to communities throughout New England. The Friendly Toast exists to brunch hard and celebrate every day. Our mission is to spread happiness and joy through our creative food, whimsical beverages, a quirky atmosphere and elevated guest experience.

Eric Goodwin

Founder/Owner A serial entrepreneur, Eric Goodwin is always looking for the next mountain to climb. It started with the creation of what has become Goodwin Recruiting back in 1999. At that point, Eric had two young kids but was working long hours as a restaurant operator. He saw an opportunity to try his hand at ... A serial entrepreneur, Eric Goodwin is always looking for the next mountain to climb. It started with the creation of what has become Goodwin Recruiting back in 1999. At that point, Eric had two young kids but was working long hours as a restaurant operator. He saw an opportunity to try his hand at recruiting and took the risk to start his own business. Years of hard work, careful planning and continued risk taking have led to multiple successful business with nationwide reach. Eric remains very active in all of his businesses and investments, including Goodwin Recruiting, The Friendly Toast and GFM.

Eric and the Goodwin family are also involved in numerous charitable endeavors, most notably their Goodwin Family Scholarship which is a need-based scholarship program for undergraduate UNH students majoring in Hospitality Management. Eric was recognized as the 2015 New Hampshire Restauranteur of the Year.

In his free time, Eric enjoys time with his family, boating on Lake Winnipesaukee and playing the electric bass guitar. His son, Tyler, works for GFM and his daughter, Samantha, is a Mental Health Therapist in Portsmouth, NH. He lives in Alton Bay, NH.

Tyler Goodwin

CEO Tyler joined the family business after graduating from UNH with a BA in History. Tyler has also received his MBA from the UNH Peter T Paul College of Business and Economics. He has served in a variety of capacities within the family business and currently serves as GFM’s CEO. In his role as CEO, T... Tyler joined the family business after graduating from UNH with a BA in History. Tyler has also received his MBA from the UNH Peter T Paul College of Business and Economics. He has served in a variety of capacities within the family business and currently serves as GFM’s CEO. In his role as CEO, Tyler is responsible for the operations and financial management of GFM. Tyler also sits on the Board of both Goodwin Recruiting and The Friendly Toast and is responsible for evaluating outside investment opportunities for the firm.

Tyler lives in Portsmouth, NH with his wife, Megan, daughter Ellie and son Jack. He serves as the Board Chair for the Prescott Park Arts Festival and is otherwise active in the community. In his free time, Tyler enjoys family adventures and playing hockey and golf.

Brandon Laverriere

CFO Brandon joined Goodwin Family Management in August of 2021. He received degrees in Finance and Economics from the University of New Hampshire and his MBA from Southern New Hampshire University. Brandon holds an active CPA license and is a Certified Equity Professional. Brandon’s career spans acr... Brandon joined Goodwin Family Management in August of 2021. Brandon holds an active CPA license and is a Certified Equity Professional. Brandon’s career spans across multiple finance and accounting leadership roles, as well as a variety of industries including non-profit, telecom, manufacturing, technology and retail. Most recently prior to joining Goodwin Family Management, Brandon was a Senior Finance Manager for Covetrus (CVET) in Portland ME, as well as a Manager of SEC Reporting & SOX Compliance and Corporate Accounting Manager for Bottomline Technologies (EPAY) in Portsmouth, NH. During Brandon’s downtime, he can be found running, hiking one of Maine or New Hampshire’s many peaks, cheering on the Boston Celtics, or playing in his weekly cornhole leagues. Brandon resides in Saco, ME with fiancée Hannah.
